Construction - Week 3

Monday 17th December 2012

Today the rest of the frame was finished. We also noticed the internal access door from the garage was on the front door side of the bulk head in our entry rather than behind it, meaning it was right in our entry way rather than hidden behind the bulkhead. In the display we looked through & in our original set of plans it was behind the bulkhead but in our last plans it was in front which we were unhappy about but it was our fault as we didn't check them properly. We decided to contact our site supervisor just to ask if there was anything that could be done & he was more than helpful & by Monday night the door had been moved :)

Construction - Week 2

Everything is going so quickly at the moment, we just had a phone call to say our slab will be poured today, so exciting it is beginning to seem real now!!

Today most of the frame was put up, it is just the back bedroom, laundry & rumpus room to go



 

Friday it rained all day so nothing was done

Construction - Week 1

On Tuesday 4th December 2012 the on site construction of our house began

Almost Ready

On Friday we were told that we would be starting on Tuesday 4th December as long as we mowed our block before then (I don't know why we had to as it wasn't that long & they were doing a site scrape)

So on the weekend we went & mowed the block. We found that preparation work had already began & we had a toilet, a rubbish bin & a temporary driveway

 

 

 

The front of the block had also been bagged

 

 

 

Now we just hold our breath & wait for tomorrow & hope they start on site!!

• Tuesday 2nd October 2012 - Tender Appointment paid balance of 3% deposit
• Wednesday 17th October 2012 - Colour, electrical & Tile selection

FRAME STAGE - (9 days

• Wednesday 12th December 2012 - Frame started
• Thursday 20th December 2012 - Frame complete, received frame stage invoice

 

LOCK UP STAGE (29 days + 3 weeks break for Christmas)

• Friday 21st December 2012 - Finish for the Christmas break
• Friday 11th January 2013 - Bricks delivered
• Monday 14th January 2013 - Return from Christmas break

• Monday 14th January 2013 - Wrapping started
• Tuesday 15th January 2013 - Wrapping complete
• Friday 18th January 2013 - Guttering & plumbing in walls
• Monday 21st January 2013 - Bricking started 
• Friday 25th January 2013 - Roof tiles started & almost finished

• Monday 4th February 2013 - Bricks finished, roof tiles finished
• Wednesday 6th February 2013 - solar hot water installed
• Friday 8th February 2013 - Temporary front door and garage internal access door installed, bath frame & cavity sliders 
• Monday 11th February 2013 -  independent building inspector & shower bases fitted, received lock up stage invoice

FIX STAGE - (31 days)

• Wednesday 13th February 2013 -  Electrical 
• Friday 15th February 2013 - Ducted heating unit installed, insulation started 
• Wednesday 20th February 2013 - Plastering started and finished
• Friday 28th February 2013 - Doors, architraves & skirting delivered

• Monday 4th March 2013 - Rendering done, door frames, doors & architraves started
• Tuesday 5th March 2013 - Doors & Archs finished, skirting started
• Friday 8th March 2013 - Kitchen & all cabinets delivered
• Tuesday 12th March 2013 - Kitchen & all Cabinets installed, skirting finished
• Wednesday 13th March 2013 - Kitchen cabinets finished, all internal door hung, front door hung
• Thursday 14th March 2013 - fixing stage invoice received

PRACTICAL COMPLETION STAGE

• Wednesday 27th March 2013 - Internal Painting started

• Tuesday 3rd April 2013 - Internal painting complete
• Wednesday 4th April 2013 - waterproofing
• Thursday 5th April 2013 - Tiling started
• Thursday 11th April 2013 - Tiling completed
• Thursday 18th April 2013 - Caesar stone bench tops in the ensuite, bathroom & back kitchen bench put in
• Monday 22nd April 2013 - Electrical fit off
• Tuesday 23rd April 2013 - Door Handles & door Stops, Caesar stone on island bench
• Wednesday 24th April 2013 - Plumbing fit off, toilets installed, heating vents complete
• Thursday 25th April 2013 - Wardrobe & pantry fit offs, roof insulation & windows cleaned 
• Friday 26th April 2013 - Garage roller door installed 
• Monday 29th April 2013 - Shower screens installed
• Tuesday 30th April 2013 - Mirrors installed, fencing taken away, expanders in brickwork complete

• Wednesday 1st May 2013 - Site clean
• Friday 3rd May 2013 - Timber floor started
• Saturday 4th May 2013 - Timber Floor finished
• Monday 6th May 2013 - Render painted
• Tuesday 7th May 2013 - Underlay laid
• Wednesday 8th May 2013 - Plumber returned to connect bath & finish fit off, External painting
• Thursday 9th May 2013 - Carpet Laid, Tiler returned & finished grout, house cleaned
• Friday 10th May 2013 - Bathrooms sealed, Shower drains out in, external garage door hung, fly screens to all windows
• Monday 13th May 2013 - External painting completed
